LaMonica Garrett has joined the cast of ABC’s “Designated Survivor.”
The drama, which was ordered straight to series in December, stars Kiefer Sutherland as Tom Kirkman, a low-level cabinet member who becomes president after everyone before him in line to the office dies in a catastrophic attack during the State of the Union.
Natascha McElhone, Maggie Q, Kal Penn, Italia Ricci and Adan Canto are also set to star. Garrett will play Ritter, a Secret Service officer charged with protecting the Kirkman family in the wake of the unprecedented bombing of the Capitol.
Garrett’s previous TV credits include “black-ish,” “The Last Ship” and “Sons of Anarchy.” He also held a recurring role on Hulu’s “The Hotwives of Las Vegas.”
Amy B. Harris will serve as the showrunner on the series from The Mark Gordon Company and ABC Studios. David Guggenheim wrote the pilot and will executive produce with Simon Kinberg, Sutherland, Aditya Sood and Suzan Bymel.
Garrett is represented by APA and Coronel Group.
