Creator and longtime host Barbara Walters returned to her seat at “The View” on Friday morning. She joked with the current cohosts that they should have played, “The Bitch Is Back” or perhaps “God Save the Queen” as she walked out.
“This is a very different set,” Walters said. “They’re finally spending some money.”
Sunday night, Walters will mark the 21st anniversary since she first began hosting her annual “10 Most Fascinating People” special on ABC. She has a whole new list of names for 2014 and gave a sneak peek during her appearance on “The View.”
Featured this year will be Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey, Neil Patrick Harris, Chelsea Handler, Michael Strahan, Scarlett Johansson and David Koch with the remaining three to be revealed during the broadcast.
“It’s the longest one we have had, and I think the best one we have had,” Walters said of her two-hour special.
Walters played a clip from her interview with Winfrey, asking if she missed doing her daytime talk show.
“I don’t miss it,” Winfrey told her. “You’re only as good as the last show, and every year for 25 years I was constantly trying to come up with what is going to be the thing. You’re always chasing the numbers.”
Winfrey even admits she and producers were in talks on a plan to send her audience to outer space.
