ABC Family has ordered drama pilot “Guilt,” which simulates an Amanda Knox-style murder mystery, the network announced Thursday.
“‘Guilt’ is a sophisticated, sexy and suspenseful crime epic that will have audiences captivated week-to-week,” said Karey Burke, Executive Vice President, Programming and Development, ABC Family, in a statement.
The drama centers on an American student in London who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of her roommate. As the investigation unfolds, the viewers will question whether she’s a naive, young girl whose poor decisions are being magnified under the ruthless glare of the British tabloids, or whether she’s a sociopath who brutally murdered her friend.
“Guilt” is written, created and executive-produced by Kathryn Price and Nichole Millard. Steve McPherson will serve as executive producer.
The show is a co-production of Sea to Sky Entertainment (the joint venture between Lionsgate Television and Thunderbird Films) and BV Family Productions in association with ABC Family.
